1. Who we are
Visit Ijen (visitijen.com) is an independent editorial site about visiting the Kawah Ijen volcano in East Java, Indonesia — tours, stays and transport. We are not a tour operator and we take no bookings: reservations always happen on the partner platforms linked from this site.
2. What data we collect
This site has no user accounts, no booking forms and no newsletters, so we never ask for your name, email or payment details.
We use Google Analytics 4 only after you consent, to measure pages visited and affiliate link interactions. Before consent or after refusal, our Analytics tag is not loaded.
Your cookie choice itself is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) for 180 days, so we do not ask you on every visit.
3. Affiliate links and partners
Visit Ijen is funded by affiliate commissions: when you book a tour, a stay or a rental car through the links or widgets on this site (for example GetYourGuide, Booking.com via Stay22, or DiscoverCars), we may earn a commission. It never changes your price, and it never changes what we write.
Partner scripts and embedded widgets may contact their providers when the page loads, before you click a booking link. When you use a partner platform, it processes data under its own privacy policy. Bookings and payments are handled by the partner platform under its own privacy policy.
4. Analytics
You can change your choice through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Withdrawal disables our Analytics measurement, deletes accessible first-party analytics cookies and reloads the page without our Google tag. Partner widgets and scripts are separate services and may make their own network requests when loaded.
5. Legal basis
Analytics cookies are enabled on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Basic technical logs kept by our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) for security and delivery are based on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and portability of your personal data, and you can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise applicable rights, contact [email protected]. You can also withdraw analytics consent using “Cookie preferences” in the footer; doing so does not replace your other rights.
7. Contact
